We are so glad to have you visit our brand new blog. We are a young-ish couple and we live about 30 minutes from Portland, Oregon. We are creating our dream of living on a homestead and having a self-sufficient lifestyle. While we both currently work full-time jobs outside of the home, our "end goal" is to live off the land. We are so excited to have you join us through our trials and triumphs of building our farm from scratch.
A little about our home: We have about three acres of land. We are surrounded by amazingly gorgeous trees, nature, wildlife and very few cars; however, we only live about ten minutes from town. We have seven hens, one rooster, 13 chicks, three cats, two dogs and an occasional visit from our neighbor's two horses. We are currently planting seeds to grown our own vegetables and fruits. We plan to grow our animals to include KuneKune pigs, Pygmy goats, and so much more.
A little about us: We are Kris & Jeana Buxton. We have been together for ten years. We both have full-time jobs that we work at all day, and when we come home, we look forward to spending time with our animals and bettering ourselves. This has always been a dream of our; we had hopes of this being a "retirement plan," but decided WHY WAIT?
