Meet The Buxton Farm Family!

At The Buxton Farm, we have so much love for all the animals we keep.  We would like to take a minute to introduce you to our entire family.

Kris is the Papa of the Farm.  He is the fixer and visionary for the farm.  He is always coming up with new and improved ways to make the farm better.  He also enjoys wood-working and makes gorgeous creations that will (someday) be for sale.  Keep an eye out for Kris's masterpieces!

Jeana is the Mama of the Farm.  She is the one you will find sitting out in the pasture, talking to the pigs and rubbing bellies.  She is also the one who will walk you through your purchasing process and help you with any questions or concerns you have.

The Inside Kitties: Harley, Ava, Lyla & Coco. These sweet cats enjoy their days laying in patches of sun that is shining through the windows, or by the fire.

The Dogs: Lucy & Winston.  Lucy is a large part of the greeting committee at the farm.  She loves people and animals.  Winston enjoys sitting inside, usually wrapped inside of a blanket when it's cold outside, or sitting in the sun when it's warm.

The Outside Kitties: Diesel & Storm.  This crew helps keep the mice and voles at bay.  They also enjoy being petted, climbing trees and sneaking naps under the heat lamps.

The Boys: Oliver, Duke, Ranger & Bacon.  Oliver, Duke and Ranger are our breeding males.  They enjoy a nice stroll in the pasture during the day, and harassing the girls if they are given the opportunity.  Bacon is our meat pig.  He is full of love and will often come to you for pets.

The Girls: Tulip, Dora, Betty, Veronica, Willow, Rebel & Pearl.  These girls are the biggest loves you have ever met.  They want to sniff your shoes, check you out and then roll over for belly rubs.  Tulip, Dora, Betty and Veronica have all farrowed some gorgeous litters.  We are looking forward to future litters from Willow, Rebel & Pearl.

The Chickens:  There are too many to name, but if you get eggs from us, these are the wonderful creators of these delicious treats.  In the future, we plan on selling day-old chicks that will be incubated (by us) from eggs we gather from these amazing girls and boys.  They enjoy ignoring any and all fencing we have so that they can find the bird or cat food.

Piglets All SOLD!

All of our piglets from the litters we had in January have sold.  If you are interested in upcoming litters, please follow our Facebook page for up-to-date information.  We expect to have two more litters at the start of April.  These litters will be Jenny and either BH Tutaki or Tonganui.  We can't wait to share more of this amazing breed with you!

Wilson's Gina x BH Tutaki Piglets AVAILABLE!

Dora (CVF Wilson's Gina 1) and her sister, Tulip (CVF Wilson's Gina 4) gave birth to 14 gorgeous piglets earlier this month.  We have 5 gilts (all now SOLD), 3 boars, and 6 barrows (1 is now sold) in this litter.  Wilson's Gina are known for being amazing, gentle, kind and caring mothers, and these two are just that.  BH Tutaki is one of the best breeders in this breed, and Oliver (YKFR BH Tutaki 5) is absolutely a gorgeous male and a perfect quality boar.

More info on this breed: they are grazers, so grass is their main source of food. When grass isn’t growing, supplement with alfalfa hay. They eat about 2 cups of food a day and most fruits and veggies. These are NOT slop pigs. Pigs need constant access to water and a nice shelter with straw for bedding. In the warmer months, they will need a wallow with mud and water so they can cool themselves off. This breed is known for being kind, gentle and loving. Good for families with children, or no children. Our pigs are raised with dogs, cats and chickens.
The gilts and boars come registered and microchipped. The barrows come with a microchip if they are a pet, and not for meat. We only sell the best of the best of our boys, the others are castrated. All animals come with baby vaccines and their first worming completed. We always are here to help our buyers with any questions you may have - and we pride ourselves on that. We are NOT a seller who lets you figure it out on your own.
If you chose to use this breed as a source of food for your family, the meat is amazing. It’s a nice marbled meat that is far higher quality than a traditional pig, as they eat a better diet.
If you are asking yourself why these cute piglets cost “so much”, please remember that we only sell the best of the best. We pride ourselves on quality over quantity and it shows in our animals. We aim for selling the breed standard, and we are comparable to what others sell this breed for. We do NOT sell animals as our main source of income - we both have full-time jobs and breed pigs as a hobby. It costs money to keep and feed to produce a high quality animal.

If you are interested in any of our available litter, please send us an email at thebuxtonfarmoc@gmail.com for more information.
